Pernigotti’s history has long roots.
Everything started in 1860 when Stefano Pernigotti opened a grocery store in the center of Novi Ligure, loved for his sweets.
Within a few years, the company became renowned for its delicious nougat.
Even during the First World War, when the use of sugar for the preparation of confectionery products was banned, Paolo Pernigotti, son of the founder, with extraordinary intuition, modified the recipe of the nougat: he replaced sugar with a higher concentration of honey, obtaining a unique product for flavor and texture.In 1927, the company began to produce Gianduiotto, the chocolate that would become one of the most appreciated symbols of the Piedmontese chocolate tradition in Italy and worldwide.
